COMMUNITY HELP NEEDED

A request for support from the leadership of Twin Cities Leather regarding recent events: 

By now, many of you have undoubtedly seen the footage of the incident that transpired yesterday afternoon on the block in front of our store.

This is just one incident that has occurred during a week of terror here in our neighborhood including gas being deployed directly outside.

 

As such the primary function of Twin Cities’s Leather as a Leather store has had to pivot.

We have had to cease all operations other than maintaining and providing our community space at this time with volunteer security posted at our entrances.

 

All week we have joined our neighbors at Smitten Kitten and Wrecktangle pizza collecting and distributing donations for members of our community who cannot even leave their own home for fear of their safety.

 

Daily we have been maintaining a safe place for members of our community to be able to gather with one another and assist in the efforts of food and supply distribution, both through official traditional avenues, like food banks, as well as feeding anyone off the street who may be in need. We have turned no one away.

 

It is at this time that now we need to make a direct request of you, the members of our community. Traditionally the costs of our community work here at Twin Cities’s Leather have been covered by the revenues of our Leather store in addition to our Patreon supporters. None of us have collected a single paycheck, and we have made no sales during this time while we maintain security at our doors and for our volunteers.

 

We are willing to continue to maintain and provide safe space however we are going to need your help. Without it we will cease to operate in the next 60 days.
